The Prasenjit Livelihood and Microenterprise and Promotion Trust has been put into place after an analysis and brainstorming by the trustees. The brainstorming process also included advisors that included villagers, development experts, administrators, veteran Gandhians and people from various walks of life, including village women, unemployed youth and elders. In the first year it started in an informal note with all members contributing in various form- financially or in kind to develop a shared vision, mission and road map for the trust. It also invested in building community relations through meetings, health camps, training of youth and developing the plot of land at Jajikona village of Bihdia development block of Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam, India. The plot which is to be developed as a “Livelihood Resource Center and Campus of the Trust” has been being developed through fencing, renovation of an existing Assam type building as office cum training hall cum library for the trust. We are also upgrading it with parent stocks of horticulture plants, sericulture host plant nursery and a poly tunnel for rapid propagation of various plantation crops. A fishery measuring 1 Ha. Is also under the process of renovation and up gradation to build it as resource center for aquaculture activities. The trust was formally registered as a public charitable trust on 13th day of August month of 2013 at Guwahati, Assam, India.
